Black Biz Dev Inc. is proud to launch The Way We Were: Roxbury’s Black Wall Street, 1900–1965 — a groundbreaking community archive and research initiative that uncovers, documents, and celebrates the vibrant ecosystem of Black-owned businesses, civic institutions, and cultural leadership that defined Roxbury in the first half of the 20th century.

Through research partnerships, community storytelling, and historical preservation, The Way We Were honors the legacy of Black excellence in Roxbury while creating pathways for future generations to understand and build on this rich history.

We invite you to join us as a sponsor in supporting this work and helping us build an archive that lives beyond this moment. Sponsorships help fund public exhibitions, oral history interviews, youth programming, and community events — including our annual Way We Were gathering at Roxbury Community College.
